1. Penglipuran Village

Administratively Penglipuran Indigenous Village is located in Kubu Village, Bangli District, Bangli Regency, Bali, Indonesia. Bali is an island that holds millions of enchanting beauty. In addition to the island known as island of a thousand temples and because of the many Hindu houses of worship (temple) on the island with a beautiful landscape, Bali is also often referred to as the island of a million because of the diversity of cultural symbols and customs that are still strongly attached to the people of Bali. 2. Besakih Moter Temple

This Mother Temple is actually a complex made up of twenty-two temples that sit on parallel ridges. It has stepped terraces and flights of stairs which ascend to a number of courtyards and brick gateways that in turn lead up to the main spire or Meru structure, which is called Pura Penataran Agung. All this is aligned along a single axis and designed to lead the spiritual person upward and closer to the mountain which is considered sacred.The main sanctuary of the complex is the Pura Penataran Agung. The symbolic center of the main sanctuary is the lotus throne or padmasana, which is therefore the ritual focus of the entire complex. It dates to around the seventeenth century. Read More

3. Bukit Jambul Rice terraces

Bukit Jambul Rice Terrace the located at Pesaban traditional village, Nongan village, Rendang district. It is approximately 8 kms from Klungkung regency to the north, and about 51 kms from Denpasar or 15 kms from Besakih Temple. Bukit Jambul is renowned as an outstanding natural tourist destination due to the harmonious combination of hilly land, rice fields, valleys and the beautiful sea panorama in a distance. From high land, we will be able to witness the beauty of the nature beneath. The name of Bukit Jambul was firstly given during the Dutch invasion in Indonesia by a tourist, who was inspired by a high hill standing on the south of the main road connecting Klungkung regency and Besakih of Karangasem regency. There is a Hindu Temple called Pura Pucak Sari on the top of the hill, which is surrounded by big trees. Below the temple complex there is a stunning panorama of rice fields. This makes the trees look like a tufting hair from a distance (Bukit = hill, Jambul = Tuft of hair).

4. Kerta Gosa Pavilion

The Klungkung kingdom was considered to be the highest and most important of the nine kingdoms of Bali from the late 17th century to 1908. It was the heir of the old Gelgel kingdom, which had dominated the island since long but had broken up in the late 17th century. In 1686 (or, in another version, 1710), Dewa Agung Jambe I, a prince descending from the old Rajas of Gelgel, moved to Klungkung (also known as Semarapura) and built a new palace or puri. Although he did not have the prerogatives of his Gelgel forbears, the new palace maintained a degree of prestige and precedence on the politically fragmented island. The palace was built in square form, being roughly 150 meters on each side with the main gate to the north. It was divided in several blocks with various ritual and practical functions. 5. Goa Lawah Temple

Goa Lawah is thought to have been built by Mpu Kuturan, as indicated in the chronicle of Bendesa Mas; it was however, Nirartha who meditated there and established it as a directional temple. The temple itself underwent quite significant renovation about six years ago with the red brick replaced with more hardwearing black volcanic rock, and while it is does not evoke the same emotions as say Uluwatu or Besakih, that, it seems, for visitors is not its main draw. The temple is built on an embankment and around a deep, central cave that is home to the millions of bats that provides its popular name. While in the cave the bats are considered holy and are protected, at their dusk mass exodus they relinquish this protection until they return. The bats, however, are not the only inhabitant of the huge cave since it is believed Naga Basuki, the serpent who maintains the earth’s balance, is said to live in the depths. The local guides attest to frequently seeing 3-4 meter long pythons living in holes in the rock face.

1. Padang Bay Beach

Most visitors to Padang Bai are there to catch a boat to Lombok and sadly miss out on a charming little place in its own right. People who do give it a chance often cancel their trip in order to spend more time in this lovely village. Spending a night or two here will certainly not be time wasted.There is good diving and snorkeling in the immediate area, and a number of operators are present to cater for those activities. This is also a fairly convenient base from which to explore some of the wider attractions of East Bali. Accommodation tends to be quite basic and aimed at the backpacker market, but there are more upmarket options in town.

2. Candidasa Beach

In Candidasa there is not much beach, especially at high tide. Concrete breakwaters run parallel to the shore for the length of the town.There is a quiet and little visited black sand beach west of Candidasa proper called Pantai Labuan Amok. Although it has an unsightly Pertamina oil terminal at one end, this is a clean beach in a pretty bay, and the offshore waters offer good snorkeling with live coral in shallow waters. There are many other small coves and bays to explore in this area and all visitors are encouraged to do so.Five kilometres north east of Candidasa is Pasir Putih (White Sand Beach), one of East Bali’s well-kept secrets. It’s a five hundred metre long, isolated, beautiful, white sand beach fringed with coconut palms. There are a few warungs (small shops) who rent sunbeds and umbrellas. Massage ladies make it into a tourist place.

3. Tenganan Village

In the hills just four km inland from Candidasa at Tenganan, is the most famous Bali Aga (original Balinese) village. There is another (distinct) Bali Aga community in the village of Trunyan on the shores of Lake Batur near Kintamani, but visitors are advised that Tenganan is much easier to reach and far more welcoming of outsiders.The Bali Aga people have retained an ancient pre-Majapahit Balinese culture, and this is apparent in the many obvious differences from the rest of Bali which you will find in Tenganan. The villagers maintain a strict adherence to ancestor worship, cosmology and other animist beliefs, as well as a rigid social organisation. Villagers must live inside the village and marry from within. Tenganan is closed to outsiders after dark. The dialect of Balinese spoken here is heard nowhere else, and differs substantially from even the other Bali Aga community in Trunyan. Read More

4. White Sand Beach

It is closer to white than yellow, and we assume it’s called “White sand beach” because “Closer to white than yellow sand beach” is a bit of a mouthful — but it ain’t white. Not that that matters of course, because it’s still a lovely beach with super fine squeaky sand. A bunch of warungs at the northern end of the beach will feed you, while the southern end is given over to the local fishermen’s boats. The warungs are cheap and cheerful, but be sure to check that the seafood you order here is fresh — especially in low season.

5. Tirta Gangga Water Palace

The primary draw in this area for visitors is the Tirta Gangga water palace, a lovely maze of pools and fountains surround by a lush garden and stone carvings and statues. The one hectare complex was built from 1948 onwards by the late heir to the Kingdom of Karangsem but was destroyed almost entirely by the eruption of nearby Mount Agung in 1963. It has been lovingly re-built and restored and has an air of authentic royal magnificence. The centrepiece of the palace is an eleven tiered fountain, and there are many beautiful carvings and statues adorning the gardens. This is a great spot to unwind and it has a real atmosphere of old Bali. Read More

6. Taman Ujung Park

Taman Ujung to the southeast of Karangasem (Amlapura) is another water palace built by the predecessor of the King who constructed Tirta Gangga. It must be said that it is rather inferior, but still a charming attraction and worth a visit. Taman Ujung was built in 1909 as a relaxation and recreation palace by the then King of Karangasem, I Gusti Bagus Jelantik. It was largely destroyed by the eruption of Mount Agung in 1963, damaged again by an earthquake in 1979, and has not been restored on the same scale as Tirta Gangga. You do get a sense of how lovely it must have been though. From Tirta Gangga, head back south to Karangasem and then take the minor road south east to the village of Ujung. Taman Ujung is another 2 km past the village, very close to the coast. If you are staying in Tirta Gangga or Candidasa, you will certainly be offered tours which include Taman Ujung.

Day 1

1. Tanah Lot Temple

Tanah Lot means “Land [sic: in the] Sea” in the Balinese language.Located in Tabanan, about 20 kilometres (12 mi) from Denpasar, the temple sits on a large offshore rock which has been shaped continuously over the years by the ocean tide. Tanah Lot is claimed to be the work of the 15th-century priest Nirartha. During his travels along the south coast he saw the rock-island’s beautiful setting and rested there. Some fishermen saw him, and bought him gifts. Nirartha then spent the night on the little island. Later he spoke to the fishermen and told them to build a shrine on the rock for he felt it to be a holy place to worship the Balinese sea gods. The Tanah Lot temple was built and has been a part of Balinese mythology for centuries. The temple is one of seven sea temples around the Balinese coast. Read More

2. Taman Ayun Temple

This temple is located in the village of Mengwi village, Badung regency, which is approximately 18 km northwest of the Denpasar city. This temple is one of the most beautiful ostensibly in Bali. Pages arranged in such a beautiful temple surrounded by fish ponds. Built in 1634 by King of Mengwi, I Gusti Agung Putu, then restored in 1937. Decorated by “Meru-Meru” towering and majestic cater for both the royal ancestors and to the Gods in other ostensibly in Bali, Taman Ayun Temple is the mother (Paibon) for Mengwi kingdom. Temple complex is divided into 4 different parts, one higher than the other. Page called Jaba can be achieved only by passing through the only gate bridge and pond. Once inside there is a small monument to guard the entrance and on the right is the building area (Wantilan) which are held when there is a ceremony cockfighting chicken.

3. Ulundanu Temple & Lake view ( Bedugul )

Ulun Danu Bratan Temple, or Bratan Temple, is a major Shivaite and water temple in Bali, The other major water temple being Pura Ulun Danu Batur. The temple complex is located on the shores of Lake Bratan in the mountains near Bedugul. Water temples serve the entire region in the outflow area; downstream there are many smaller water temples that are specific to each irrigation association (subak). Built in 1663, this temple is used for offerings ceremony to the Balinese water, lake and river goddess Dewi Danu, due to the importance of Lake Bratan as a main source of irrigation in central Bali. The 11 stories of pelinggih meru dedicated for Shiva and his consort Parvathi. Buddha statue also present inside this temple.

4. Buyan & Tamblingan Lake view

Tamblingan Lake is located on the north slope of Mount Dimples, the Munduk Village, Banjar District, Buleleng regency, Bali. This lake is one of three twin lakes formed within a large caldera. In the east there is a row of Lake Buyan and Lake Beratan. Flanked by the surrounding forest, and because it is located in the highlands of the lake makes it air cool. As one of the natural attractions, the Lake Tamblingan not developed in the direction of modern tourism in order to preserve nature and the environment. Its main attraction of this place is not just its natural charm, but also because of the many temples that keep the history and development of the civilization and culture of Bali, particularly concerning the formation and development of the village Tamblingan.

5. Gitgit Waterfall ( Optional )

Gitgit waterfall is a waterfall located in Singaraja, Bali. The waterfall is located in the village of Gitgit, Sukasada District, Buleleng within 11 km to the south of Singaraja. This waterfall has a height of 35 meters and is the highest waterfall on the island of Bali. This place is perfect for lovers of trekking tour, with the field winding and up and down with views of the natural forest.

6. Banjar Holly Hot Spring

Hot Water Spring Banjar is located in the village, Buleleng district about 24 kilometers west of Singaraja city. To reach the location we can use a motor vehicle to the road conditions were pretty good. Banjar Hot Water is a natural hot spring which is considered to cure the disease. Hot springs of Banjar predicted hundreds of years old, which since the days of the Japanese occupation of hot springs have been improved and utilized. The Japanese government at the time was to build three water storage pond for bathing, because the produced water contains sulfur which can cure skin diseases. Until now, these baths are still used by the general public and tourists. Besides as a place to bathe and swim Tourists can also enjoy water fall shower as if his body massaged, especially with a 3.5 meter high shower fitted so that the body becomes more fresh.

7. Vihara Budha Temple

Located in the village of Banjar Tegeha, 18 km west of Singaraja. 2 km to the south of the main road of Singaraja-Seririt. Temple is located at the foot of the hill overlooking the sea. Brahmavihara-Arama better known as Banjar Buddhist Temple is the biggest buddha temple in Bali. Area is quite extensive. From this place to see the sights of the North Bali Sea stretching from east to west because it is located in hilly terrain, this makes buddha temple has a strong attraction for both foreign tourists and the archipelago. The impressive monument is a large temple bell, donated by Thailand, fanel-fanel reflecting Buddhist stories, and Buddhist statues. Providing the ideal place for those looking for a place for meditation.

1. Lovina Beach ( Dolphin Watching )

Lovina is located about 9 km west of the city of Singaraja, this is one of the tourist attractions in North Bali. Both foreign and local travelers who visit there a lot, but to see the unspoiled beaches, also to see the dolphins are abundant in this beach. 2. Kintamani Vulcano & Lake View

The southeast wall of the inner caldera lies beneath Lake Batur; Batur cone has been constructed within the inner caldera to a height above the outer caldera rim. The Batur stratovolcano has produced vents over much of the inner caldera, but a NE-SW fissure system has localized the Batur I, II, and III craters along the summit ridge. Historical eruptions have been characterized by mild-to-moderate explosive activity sometimes accompanied by lava emission. Basaltic lava flows from both summit and flank vents have reached the caldera floor and the shores of Lake Batur in historical time. The caldera contains an active, 700-metre-tall stratovolcano rising above the surface of Lake Batur. Read More

The origin of kopi luwak is closely connected with the history of coffee production in Indonesia. In the early 18th century the Dutch established the cash-crop coffee plantations in their colony in the Dutch East Indies islands of Java and Sumatra, including Arabica coffee introduced from Yemen. During the era of Cultuurstelsel (1830—1870), the Dutch prohibited the native farmers and plantation workers from picking coffee fruits for their own use.
